Prompt & Reference Libraries

Seam has two ways to save and reuse work: the Prompt library for your own prompt and setting presets, and Reference libraries for image collections you manage in the dashboard.

Prompt library

  • Open the library with the library button in the panel.
  • "Save" stores the current prompt together with all current settings (model, seed, aspect ratio, and the rest) as a preset.
  • Presets can be tagged, marked as favorites, edited, copied, and deleted.
  • Applying a preset restores the prompt and the settings.
  • Presets are managed only in the plugin. They are also backed up to your Seam account in the background, so they follow you to a second computer and survive a plugin reset or a reinstall. You can switch the backup off under Settings in the dashboard.
  • Signing in with a different account replaces the local library with that account's presets, so two people on one machine never see each other's work.

Reference libraries

Reference libraries are collections of images that you manage in the dashboard, for example brand assets or style references. They are available on the Studio and Lifetime plans.

  • Select a library in the Reference library row of the panel. Its images are sent along as reference images for your generation.
  • Library images are managed in the dashboard, not in the plugin. Switching to another library replaces them.
  • A library can also hold text notes, for example brand or style guidelines, both for the library as a whole and for each individual image.
  • Each library holds up to 10 MB of images in JPEG, PNG, or WebP. On the Lifetime plan a library holds at most 5 images; Studio has no image count limit.

Reference library context (text notes)

The Reference library setting in the plugin settings controls how the text notes of the selected library are used:

  • Off: Notes are not used.
  • When enhancing: Notes flow into prompt enhancement only, so you see the result in the text field before anything is generated.
  • Enhancing and generating (default): Notes additionally flow into the generation itself, even when you never press Enhance.

The injected notes are capped, so a very long set of guidelines is trimmed rather than pushing your own description out of the prompt.
