Preview & Commit

With Preview and Commit you render a small draft first and produce the full resolution image only when you are satisfied. The full quality render runs once, at the end, which keeps costs down.

Preview is available for Nano Banana 2, Nano Banana 2 Pro, and GPT Image 2. The Preview button appears only when one of these models is selected.

How it works

    Set up your generation as usual, then click Preview instead of Generate. A low resolution draft is placed as a layer. Its name is marked with "[Preview]".
  2. 2
    Not right yet? Adjust your description or settings and preview again.
  3. 3
    When the draft fits, click Commit. The image is rendered at full resolution and replaces the draft layer in place. Position, size, and mask are kept.

Notes

  • Drafts are always placed into the current document, even if the output mode is set to "New document".
  • Each preview is a generation of its own.
  • If Auto Mask is enabled, the mask is applied at the Commit step, not on the draft.
