Upscale: Increase Resolution

The Upscale tab increases the resolution of an image. The models rebuild detail at the larger size instead of stretching pixels. This is useful for print, tight crops, or older material.

How to upscale

  1. 1
Select the layer you want to enlarge, or make a selection.
  2. 2
Choose an upscale model and set the scale factor or a target resolution.
  3. 3
Click Generate. The result is placed as a new layer.

Most upscale models work without a description, so the text field is hidden for them.

Models in the Upscale tab

  • SeedVR (default): For photos and realistic images. Scale factor 1 to 10, or a target resolution from 720p to 2160p.
  • SeedVR Seamless: Same as SeedVR, but keeps repeating patterns intact. For textures and patterns that are meant to tile.
  • Clarity Upscaler: Rebuilds fine detail such as skin, fabric, or foliage and can add new detail. Scale factor 1 to 4. The creativity setting controls how much new detail may be invented, the resemblance setting controls how closely the result must match the original. Accepts an optional description and a negative prompt (things the model should avoid).
  • Crystal Upscaler: Enlarges with as little change to the original as possible. Scale factor up to 200. A good choice when nothing should change except the size, for example product photos.
  • Nano Banana 2, Nano Banana 2 Pro, GPT Image 2: These re-render the image with a generative model. You can type a short note to guide the result, this is optional.
Credits

On subscription plans an upscale with SeedVR, Clarity, or Crystal uses 15 credits. Upscaling with Nano Banana or GPT Image uses the standard 25 credits.
