Features
Auto Mask (Beta)
Auto Mask is a beta feature. After a generation it detects the main object from your description and adds a layer mask around it to the new layer. The mask hides everything outside the object. Because it is a mask, nothing is deleted. You can refine or remove it at any time.
Where it works
- Available in the Create and Edit tabs. The switch sits in the Layer settings row of the panel and is remembered separately for each of the two tabs.
- Not available in the Upscale tab, and not for Background Removal, which already produces a cutout. The switch disappears there.
- Drafts from the Preview button are placed without a mask. The mask is applied on the final render.
- The switch starts off after every restart. It is a beta feature and stays a deliberate choice per session.
Settings
Both settings live under Auto mask (Beta) in the plugin settings.
- Mask feather (default 6 px): Softens the mask edge. Adjustable from off to 10 pixels.
- Smart edge feather (default on): When the object you named has difficult edges, such as hair, fur, grass, or plants, the feathering is raised automatically to 20 pixels for that run. Your own value stays untouched.
Behavior
- Auto Mask uses no extra credits.
- If no object is detected, the image is still placed, just without a mask. A short notice appears.
- With several variations, each result receives its own mask.
- It reads the object from your description, so it also works out what should be masked when you write "remove the car" rather than naming the subject directly.
Tip
Name the object clearly in your description, for example "the red car". Clear object names improve the detection.
