Credits & Costs
On the Starter, Solo, and Studio subscriptions every generation costs credits from your monthly budget. On the Lifetime plan there are no credits at all, the providers bill your own accounts directly, so this page does not apply to you.
What a generation costs
There is no flat rate per image. The price is calculated from what you actually asked for:
- The model. The gap is large. The cheapest model costs about a seventh of the most expensive one for the same picture.
- Resolution or quality. Nano Banana 2.1 at 4K costs about three times what it costs at 1K. GPT-Image-2 at high quality costs about twenty times what it costs at low.
- Variations. Each image is charged in full.
- Reference images. Each one adds a little, because the model has to read it. They are charged once per run, not once per variation.
- For upscales, the size of your image. See below.
Individual amounts are rounded up to the next 5 credits, so the number you see is never lower than what you are charged.
The panel shows the estimate next to the Generate button and updates it live as you change model, resolution, quality, variations, or references. Check it before an expensive run. The final charge is calculated on the server.
Rough guide per image
Approximate credits for one image at the setting named. Rates follow provider prices and can change, the estimate in the panel is always the current one.
- Nano Banana 2 Lite: about 35.
- Nano Banana 2.1: about 45 at 1K, 65 at 2K, 140 at 4K.
- Nano Banana Pro: about 135 at 1K and 2K, 240 at 4K.
- Imagen 4 Ultra: about 60.
- GPT-Image-2: about 10 at low, 55 at medium, 215 at high. Auto is charged as high.
- FLUX.2 LoRA and LoRA Edit: about 25.
- FLUX.2 Max Edit: about 70 for a one megapixel result.
- Grok Imagine 2.0: about 70 at 1K, 90 at 2K.
- Seedream 5.0 Pro and Pro Edit: about 135.
- Reve 2.1: about 250, the most expensive model in the catalog.
- Background Removal: about 20, the cheapest operation in the plugin.
- Prompt Enhance: 5.
Reference images add roughly 5 credits each on the Nano Banana models and Seedream, 10 on Grok, and 30 on GPT-Image-2. Auto Mask and smart layer names cost nothing extra.
Why upscales are different
Upscalers are billed by the size of the result, because that is what the provider charges for. The output is your image multiplied by the scale factor squared: a 12 megapixel photo at factor 2 becomes 48 megapixels.
- SeedVR Upscaler: about 1 credit per megapixel, at least 10 per image.
- SeedVR Seamless Upscaler: about 2.5 credits per megapixel, at least 10 per image.
- Crystal Upscaler: about 16 credits per megapixel.
- Clarity Upscaler: about 30 credits per megapixel.
- Topaz Creative Upscaler: about 40 credits per megapixel.
For that 48 megapixel result, SeedVR costs about 50 credits and Topaz about 1,900. The difference is real work, not a markup: SeedVR enlarges, Topaz redraws. Doubling the scale factor quadruples the price, so factor 4 instead of 2 costs four times as much, not twice.
Using Nano Banana or GPT-Image-2 in the Upscale tab is priced like a normal generation at their top setting: about 155, 240, and 215 credits respectively.
Budgets and refunds
- Monthly budgets: Starter 4,000 credits, Solo 10,000, Studio 32,000. You can see what is left in your dashboard.
- If you need more before the month is out, credit packs of 5,000 and 25,000 credits are available in the dashboard. Pack credits carry over instead of expiring with the month.
- If a generation fails, its credits are returned automatically.
- When you run several variations and the first one fails because of your budget, your plan, or a content filter, Seam stops there instead of burning the rest.
- Retrying the same request does not charge twice.
