API Keys Setup (Lifetime)

This page applies to the Lifetime plan (one time purchase) only. On this plan Seam runs with your own accounts at the AI providers, and the providers bill you directly at their usage rates.

An API key is a personal access code that lets Seam use your provider account. You create one key per provider and store it in your dashboard under Settings → API keys. The card appears there only on the Lifetime plan. The keys are stored encrypted and are never shown again in plain text. The plugin itself never sees them, it only asks the Seam server to run the generation.

1. Gemini (Google)

Used for the Nano Banana models, Imagen 4 Ultra, the prompt enhancer, smart layer names, and the object detection of Auto Mask.

   Create an account in Google AI Studio.

   Generate a new API key.

   Enter the key in your dashboard under Settings → API keys → Gemini.

2. OpenAI

Used for GPT-Image-2.

   Create an account on the OpenAI developer platform.

   Open the "API Keys" section and create a new secret key.

   Enter the key in your dashboard under Settings → API keys → OpenAI.

3. Fal.AI

Used for the FLUX.2, Seedream, Reve, and Grok models, for Background Removal, for all four upscalers, and for the mask generation of Auto Mask. Fal.AI also serves as a backup service when a Google or OpenAI model does not respond.

   Create an account on the fal.ai platform.

   Create a new API key in the "API Keys" section. The key has the form Key-ID:Secret.
