A Generative Fill alternative, inside Photoshop

The same select-and-describe workflow, with a choice of model, output up to 4K, and a cheap draft before the full render.

Generative Fill is built into Photoshop and is quick for small fixes. Seam's Edit tab works the same way from the outside: select, describe, generate. What changes is what you control in between.

01

Select the area

Any Photoshop selection tool works: lasso, marquee, quick selection. The selection defines what may change.

02

Describe the change

Write what should be there instead, for example "replace the cup with a red rose". Prompt Enhance expands short prompts for free.

03

Pick a model

Nano Banana, GPT-Image-2, FLUX.2, Reve, or Seedream, from one dropdown. Different models suit different edits.

04

Generate

The result arrives above the original as a new layer, with a layer mask in the shape of your selection. The original pixels stay untouched.

Seam is a separate panel. Photoshop's built-in features keep working as before, and you can move between them in the same document. For a criterion by criterion table against the built-in workflow, see the Firefly comparison.
